Smart Nation is an independent training consultancy, operating in Queensland, NSW and The Australian Capital Territory since 2004   The Principal, Paddy Warfield, has extensive experience in the vocational training field going back to 1992, with over twelve years on the Sunshine Coast.  She has owned Small Businesses since 1984, is qualified in Business Administration, Hospitality, Professional Counselling, and Workplace Training & Assessment.  She is a qualified Vocational Trainer in Hospitality, and has worked placing trainees and School Based Trainees across all industries throughout the Sunshine Coast since 1997, and prior to that in Northern NSW

In 2000, in one High School on the Sunshine Coast where she liaised with employers and schools in placing students into training  (Kevin Rudd and Wayne Swan’s old alma mater)  the School had in their student body more indentured school based trainees in one year than the entire State of Tasmania.

Utilising internet and VOIP technologies, email and fax, we provide information to employers, conduct over the phone interviews with new and existing staff, and seek enrolments into various certificate level training in the form of workplace traineeships. We are completely conversant with all Government legislation and guidelines covering workplace traineeship arrangements, and can ensure that employers are aware not only of the benefits but also of their obligations when entering Training Contracts.

We can target the particular training program  that you want to promote, in the most suitable areas for course delivery, to achieve viable programs for your business.   The majority of our clients conduct training through Distance Education mode, especially in regional and remote areas, where marketing of this type is sometimes scarce and training options limited.

This service is provided to employers and prospective trainees without cost or obligation.   Once an enrolment is confirmed and course fees paid, we invoice the Registered Training Organisation with whom we have a contract (that is, yourself)  for an agreed fee. 

We have seen our business grow enormously over the period, and our current major client has seen an increase of more than 50% in their business, requiring that they hire more administration staff to deal with increased enrolments and training.  We have been responsible for new enrolments from Thursday Is in North Queensland right down to the Victorian Border, but since we can operate our marketing model from any location there is no limit to the area we can cover.
