Trainees undertaking Certificate IV in Agriculture will be involved in a wide range of tasks and duties, and across a range of agricultural and rural production areas,to be carried out autonomously to maintain farm efficiency and productivity.
Tasks may include:
- planting and harvesting crops and all duties associated there with implementing animal and crop husbandry practices
- servicing and maintaining farm equipment and machinery
- operating specialised farm machinery, and
- designing, construction and maintenance of fencing.

Units selected must be aligned to Certificate III, IV or Diploma outcomes. These units must be relevant to work undertaken in the rural sector.
QUALIFICATION RULES
For a Certificate IV in Agriculture at least ten of the units of competency presented for this qualification must relate to agricultural procedures, activities or contexts. In addition, at least ten of the units selected to make up this qualification must be aligned clearly to Certificate IV outcomes.
