Trainees undertaking Certificate IV in Agriculture will be involved in a wide range of tasks and duties, and across a range of agricultural and rural production areas,to be carried out autonomously to maintain farm efficiency and productivity.

Tasks may include:
- planting and harvesting crops and all duties associated therewith
- implementing animal and crop husbandry practices
- servicing and maintaining farm equipment and machinery
- operating specialised farm machinery, and
- designing, construction and maintenance of  fencing.

Certificate II Agriculture RTE 20103

Trainees undertaking Certificate II in Agriculture will be involved in a wide range of tasks, and across a range of agricultural and rural production areas, working under limited supervision.

Tasks may include:
- operation of farming machinery and equipment (under supervision)
- performing routine maintenance including plant, machinery and/or fencing
- operating tractors and ride on farm and property vehicles
- applying chemicals and fertilizers
- feeding, mustering and moving livestock, and
- all routine day to day activities required to maintain farming productivity
