In partnership with the lead TAFE Institute for Trade and Technician training , is able to offer an attractive package to people seeking Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas in Engineering, utilising State Government funding to subsidise course costs.
This program, which would normally be offered part time over a number of years, is now available through the following process –
- Initial interview with a trainer to establish applicant’s suitability to apply for some part of the program through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) application, based on experience in the workplace
- Structure of a “gap” training program to make up the balance of the qualification
- Provision of training on-line for maximum flexibility, with ready access to trainers by email, phone and fax.
A trainee could expect to complete this training course in just twelve months of self paced, correspondance, online course training.
The cost ( dependent on the outcome of your RPL application), is between $3000 - $3500 You may also be eligible for a further Government subsidy of $1000 to cover the cost of Recognition of Prior Learning - ask your Trainer to make this application for you.
This means the entire program can be delivered flexibly, under twelve months and at a final cost of around $2500
The Government has identified significant skills shortages in Engineering industries at Diploma and Advanced Diploma level – earlier reports suggested that without intervention there would be a huge shortage of skilled professionals at this level – 535,000 Austalia-wide – by 2016 This program has been developed to address that situation.
